Dell EMC VNX and VNXe support in the UK
Lifecycle hardware support for assessed VNX estates that need a reliable bridge beyond warranty, during consolidation or before migration.
Can VNX still be supported? An exact VNX or VNXe estate may be supportable after OEM cover changes or expires, but no family-wide promise is responsible. We validate the model, configuration, parts risk, site, required response and dependencies before confirming a contract.
VNX support can include
- contracted hardware fault handling and remote triage;
- onsite engineering within the agreed service definition;
- replacement hardware parts under the agreed parts strategy;
- estate discovery, equipment identification and support scoping;
- planned engineering for de-installation, relocation or transition work where separately scoped.
Assets assessed individually
Dell’s support library distinguishes VNX/VNXe resources and VNX2 Series resources. Your quotation must therefore identify the exact family and model rather than simply saying “VNX”. Controllers, disk-array enclosures, drive types, interfaces and installed software can change the support and parts plan.
Hardware boundary: software, firmware, licences, configuration changes, backup, restore, replication administration and data recovery are not assumed. If any are required, they must be validated and expressly included.
Information needed to assess your VNX estate
- Model and serial or service tag for each system.
- Controller, enclosure, drive and interface configuration.
- Installed operating environment or software level.
- Site address, access constraints and security requirements.
- Current warranty or support expiry and known alerts or faults.
- Required support window and operational response.
- Business criticality, redundancy and planned migration date.
Delivery model
Cantel delivers UK support and professional services through 66 field engineers across depots in Newark-upon-Trent, Leeds, Croydon, Glasgow, Belfast and Bristol. The applicable engineer and parts plan is matched to the estate and location. Outside the UK, Cantel-approved partners and affiliates deliver only where country and scope coverage has been confirmed.
VNX support or migration?
Keeping a stable VNX platform running can be commercially sensible when a refresh is planned but not yet executable. It is less attractive where capacity, performance, security, skills, compatibility or parts risk is already constraining the business. Use support as a controlled lifecycle decision, not as an indefinite substitute for a roadmap.
