About Duncan Brown
I'm Duncan Brown, and I've spent 20 years selling and delivering IT infrastructure and services into global enterprises.
Twenty years of that is on my LinkedIn profile, if you want the detail.
My background
I started in value-add distribution, moved into infrastructure and security managed services, then spent time building and leading services businesses of my own — before a run in enterprise SaaS sales with AirWatch by VMware, and later building channel businesses across storage and cybersecurity-focused services. Along the way I have sold into and delivered for global mobile technology companies, global automotive manufacturers, international stock exchanges, and professional services and online property businesses. I do not name former customers without their sign off.
The security thread runs through most of that. I sold security products and services during my time at VMware, I sold the firewalls and routers that went into stock exchange infrastructure, and I ran engineering teams that rebuilt corporate environments after ransomware attacks. Myrmekes is not a cyber security practice and I am careful about that distinction: what I bring is the infrastructure half of an incident, which is getting the estate and the users working again. That is the same discipline, whether it is a data centre or one laptop that keeps reinfecting itself.
I also co-authored Cantel's guide to choosing the right Dell EMC support partner, drawing on that same hands-on experience of what actually matters when an estate needs support.
Why Myrmekes
Myrmekes exists to put that experience directly behind end users — engineering resources, support contracts, and fulfilment, delivered through the same trusted networks I've built relationships with over two decades: Cantel's engineers, and our partnership with CloudCoCo for IT hardware, software and agreed specialist IT services.
Like the ant bridge, the model is collaborative by design: bring together the right people, technology and delivery partners to solve the problem in front of the customer.
Cantel delivers in the UK
UK support and professional services are delivered by Cantel through 66 field engineers and six regional depots. International work is delivered through approved partners, with scope confirmed per engagement.
Proof without ambiguity
ISO 9001:2015 and Certified B Corporation status belong to Cantel Computer Services, not Myrmekes.
