Dell EMC Unity and Unity XT support in the UK

Post-warranty hardware support scoped around the exact Unity platform, installed configuration, site and operational requirement.

What Myrmekes offers: assessed hardware support for Dell EMC Unity and Unity XT estates, delivered in the UK through Cantel. Coverage is not assumed from the family name alone; the quotation identifies supported models, components, locations, support hours, response, parts and exclusions.

Unity hardware support scope

  • contracted hardware incident handling and remote triage;
  • onsite engineering within the agreed service definition;
  • replacement hardware parts using the contracted parts strategy;
  • estate discovery and supportability assessment;
  • separately scoped installation, relocation, de-installation and transition work.

Why the exact model matters

Dell’s current documentation separates Unity hybrid, all-flash and Unity XT platforms and lists model-specific installation and service guides. Hardware configuration, drive type, software level and connectivity can affect diagnosis, compatibility and parts. We therefore ask for service tags or serials and a configuration record before promising support.

Software and firmware need a separate decision

Unity OE and drive firmware are not routine hardware replacements. Dell’s own fault guidance can require checking software and drive firmware before replacing a drive. Any such work needs the correct entitlement, documentation, compatibility review, approvals and expressly agreed responsibility. Standard Myrmekes support should not be read as granting Dell downloads or licences.

Information needed for a Unity quotation

  1. Unity or Unity XT model and every service tag or serial.
  2. DPE, DAE, controller, drive and interface configuration.
  3. Current Unity OE and relevant firmware levels.
  4. Site address, rack access, security and change-control constraints.
  5. Current support status and the date new cover is required.
  6. Required support window, response and business criticality.
  7. Known alerts, degraded components and planned capacity or migration work.

UK delivery

Cantel delivers UK support and professional services through 66 field engineers across six regional depots. Actual engineering, parts and logistics are matched to the asset and site during quotation. Outside the UK, delivery uses Cantel-approved partners and affiliates only where coverage for the country and requirement has been confirmed.

When independent Unity support fits

It can be a good fit where the hardware is stable and understood, the required software entitlements have been resolved, and the organisation wants a costed bridge beyond warranty or during a planned refresh. OEM or hybrid cover may be more appropriate where current Dell software access, firmware, complex escalation or vendor-backed lifecycle assurance is essential.
